The Lorraine W. Frank Office of National Scholarships Advisement (ONSA) helps Arizona State University students and alumni compete for prestigious national and international scholarships and fellowships that fund research, international study, professional development, or post-baccalaureate study. Over the past two decades, hundreds of ASU students have been awarded millions of dollars in external funding, placing ASU among the top schools in the United States for success in national scholarship competitions.

All of the awards for which we provide advising are highly competitive external awards that are open to national or international applicant pools - prospective or current students who are seeking general financial aid or academic scholarship opportunities should refer to the ASU Financial Aid Office.

What services does ONSA provide?

We provide individual advising, workshops, programming, and information sessions throughout the year to guide applicants to success. Advisors provide in-depth guidance on applicant preparation, essay composition, and interview preparation. Students and alumni who are interested in receiving regular information on upcoming competitions, deadlines, and workshops can subscribe to the ONSA Weekly Bulletin email list.

Where do I start?

Current ASU students and recent graduates who are interested in applying for major scholarships and fellowships should begin with our 'Getting Started' page. Then, visit our Scholarship Database to review awards that match your background and objectives. Check out the Info Sessions page to see if there are info sessions or workshops scheduled for your target awards, and if not, you can find archived info sessions on our YouTube page. When you're ready to get started, review the deadlines and nomination requirements specific awards on the Apply Now page, then schedule an advising session with one of our fellowships advisors via our online system. Still not sure? Email with questions.

Who can use ONSA?

Students and recent graduates from all ASU campuses, levels of study, and academic majors or programs can work with ONSA to discover and prepare for fellowship opportunities to support their personal, professional, and intellectual goals. The Office is located at Barrett Tempe, on the second floor of Honors Hall, room 225 (but virtual advising is available). To schedule a fellowship advising appointment, use our online scheduling and advising platform or call (480) 727-8204.  General inquiries may be sent to
